Western Sydney Woman Makes History With $100M Oz Lotto Jackpot

5 February 2025 – Australia’s biggest ever individual lottery prize has been claimed, with an Elizabeth Hills woman becoming an overnight multi-millionaire after winning the entire $100 million Oz Lotto jackpot on Tuesday night.

The historic draw, which had captured the nation’s imagination and prompted one in five Australian adults to try their luck, concluded with a single Division One winner from western Sydney. The winner, who purchased her 50-game QuickPick entry through The Lott website, became Oz Lotto’s biggest individual lottery winner in Australian history.

The life-changing moment came via a late-night phone call that caught the winner in the middle of watching Married at First Sight. “What the hell! Can you repeat that? Oh my god! Don’t lie to me!” she exclaimed when lottery officials delivered the news. “Internally, I’m sweating bullets! Are you sure this is real?”

The winner, who had only purchased a ticket due to the massive jackpot size, can now look forward to significant life changes. She plans to retire from her seven-day work week, purchase her first home, and go on various holidays. “I love my job, but I won’t need to work seven days a week anymore. It’s actually really nice to think that I won’t need to work!” she shared.

The momentous draw also created numerous other winners, with 1,881,633 prizes awarded across divisions two through seven, totaling more than $42 million in prize money. Twenty-six lucky players each won $59,597.70 in Division Two.

The winning numbers in Oz Lotto draw 1616 were 3, 34, 35, 26, 44, 39 and 36, with supplementary numbers 5, 45 and 6. This win marks the 305th division one winner for The Lott in FY25, with 80 of those winners coming from NSW Lotteries customers.

This historic win surpasses previous records, including last financial year’s $90 million jackpot which was shared between three New South Wales winners. The result adds to NSW’s strong showing in Oz Lotto, which saw the state claim 10 of the 16 division one prizes in FY24, while Queensland secured three, and Tasmania, South Australia, and Western Australia each claimed one.
